Short Bio
Octavio Perez-Kempner is a Research Engineer at NTT Social Informatics Laboratories in Tokyo, with over 10 years of experience across academia and industry in cryptography, privacy, and digital identity. At NTT, he works on trustworthy digital identity and privacy-enhancing technologies, developing cryptographic foundations and protocols for secure and privacy-preserving digital identity systems. His research interests include anonymous credentials, digital identity wallets, advanced signature schemes, and post-quantum cryptography.
His work spans foundational cryptographic design and practical protocol considerations, with the goal of connecting new cryptographic techniques to emerging identity architectures, standards, and deployments. At NTT, he contributes core research supporting digital identity initiatives across the broader NTT ecosystem.
He received his Ph.D. from École Normale Supérieure – Université PSL, where his doctoral research focused on malleable cryptography, zero-knowledge proofs, and privacy-preserving authentication. His research has appeared at top-tier venues in security and cryptography.
